When I was a kid, I used to flip through the phone book looking for God’s number. (Yes — an actual phone book!)

I never found Him there, but the truth is, I didn’t have to. God wasn’t hiding in a directory. He was already near — and still is.

In our final message from Exodus, we looked at how the story ends not with Israel wandering or waiting, but with God moving in. After all the drama — plagues, parting seas, golden calves, and commandments — the book concludes with the glory of God filling the tabernacle.

This moment shows us something profound about who God is. He’s not distant, detached, or demanding that we climb our way up to Him. He’s the God who comes down. The God who chooses to dwell with us and even within us.

The same presence that filled the tabernacle would later fill a manger in Bethlehem — and now fills the hearts of those who belong to Christ. The God who once camped in the desert now lives in you.

So if you ever wonder where God is, remember: you don’t have to go searching through a directory or climbing some spiritual ladder.

He’s already moved in next door — and closer still, right into your heart. If you missed Sunday’s message, you can watch or listen here.

I pray it reminds you that God isn’t far away; He’s closer than you think.
