As the leaves turn gold and drift to the ground here in Aotearoa, our family has felt the shifting of more than just the seasons. This Autumn has marked a new chapter for us — one where we've been intentionally choosing change. Not just in what we do, but in how we do life together.

We’ve started pulling back from screens — not entirely, but enough to notice the difference. Let’s be honest: letting the iPad do the babysitting had its perks. It was easy, convenient, and sometimes necessary. But lately, we’ve been sensing a deeper invitation — to slow down, to reconnect, and to be more present with one another and with God.

It hasn’t been smooth sailing. Removing that easy distraction has made things feel a little harder some days. There’s more noise, more mess, more moments that require patience and creativity. But there’s also more laughter, more shared stories, more time sitting around the table building Lego masterpieces or scribbling away on a piece of paper with crayons and dreams.

We’ve been prioritising prayer together, opening up the Bible as a family, and making space for little devotions — not perfect ones, but real ones. The kind where kids ask big questions and we sometimes don’t have all the answers. But God shows up anyway.

We're playing more. Talking more. Connecting more with others around us. And in the midst of it all, we're growing — not just individually, but as a family, rooted more deeply in love, in faith, and in each other.

It costs something to make these kinds of changes. But the price is worth it when we consider what we’re gaining: hearts that are more attuned to God, hands that are more ready to serve one another, and memories being made in the small, beautiful moments we might have missed before.

This is our Autumn. A season of letting go and leaning in.

What now that Jesus is risen?

A few days after the resurrection Peter said, "I'm going fishing."

Not just for fun—but because he was going back to his old life. Back to what felt familiar.

But Jesus met him there.
Three times He asked,
"Do you love Me?"
And each time, He said,
"Feed My sheep."

Translation:
Don't go back.
You're not disqualified.
You're called.

Now that Jesus is risen, we don't return to business as usual.
We step into our purpose.
We love. We serve. We lead.
We feed His sheep.

Because resurrection changes everything.
