Looking for a Hokianga photographer who understands the beauty, people and character of this unique place? I’m Chris Corradino, a photographer based in the Hokianga, Northland. From the sweeping landscapes of the Hokianga Harbour to community events, churches, families, local businesses and meaningful everyday moments, I love capturing images that tell a story.

Flashback to our visit to the Church of the Good Shepherd. ⛪️

We planned to be there on a Sunday, and when it was time for the service, the photographers were asked to leave so that those who wanted to worship could come in.

What followed was something truly beautiful.

People from different nations, cultures, languages, and backgrounds gathered together in one small church. We may not have spoken the same languages. We may have come from very different places and carried very different stories. Yet, in that moment, we were united.

United not by where we came from, but by Who we had come to worship.

There was something miraculous about it—a glimpse of the Kingdom of God. People from across the globe, gathered as one family, lifting their hearts to the same Lord.

For a little while, our differences did not divide us. They became part of the beauty of the gathering.

After the service, I captured this photograph to frame the experience—a reminder that in Jesus, people from every nation can find a shared home, a shared hope, and a shared song. 📸🙏

Come. To. Me.

Not:

“Come to ChatGPT.”

Not:

“Come to church.”

Not even:

“Come to your pastor.”

But:

“Come to Me.”

Because we can be surrounded by answers—and still feel weary.

We can be part of a church—and still carry burdens alone.

We can ask others to pray for us—and forget that Jesus is inviting us to draw near.

And perhaps that is the beauty of the third word.

Jesus does not merely offer us something.

He offers us Himself.

Not just answers.

But His presence.

The tides rise and fall, and the seasons come and go—but God’s faithfulness never changes. 🌊

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8

Not every heart looks open at first. But take the time to know someone's story, and you'll often find the door to prayer standing open.

There are moments in life when you find yourself standing on the edge of a river.

Behind you is everything God has brought you through. Ahead of you is everything God has promised.

In Genesis 32, Jacob crossed the Jabbok River one way and returned another. He entered the darkness as Jacob, but when the sun rose, he walked away as Israel. He left with a limp, but he also left with a blessing—a reminder that his future was not built on his own strength, but on God's faithfulness.

Today was our final Sunday at Ōmāpere Community Church.

As I shared this morning, Jacob’s story reminds us that God meets us in the wrestling, transforms us in the process, and leads us into the future with a deeper trust in Him.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the privilege of serving alongside this church family. Thank you for welcoming us into your lives, for sharing your stories, and for allowing us to walk with you through so many moments of life.

We will treasure the conversations around kitchen tables, the prayers, the shared meals, the laughter, the tears, the hospital visits, the Bible studies, the movie nights, the celebrations, and the countless moments where we saw God at work.

It has been a privilege to open God’s Word with you each week, but even more than that, it has been a joy to know you, pray with you, and share this journey together.

The Hokianga has truly become home for us. While this chapter is coming to a close, our love for this community is not. We will continue to pray for each of you, trust God for all He has planned, and look forward to the many opportunities we will have to journey together in the years ahead.

Thank you for your kindness, your encouragement, your generosity, and your friendship. We have been richly blessed by you, and we will always look back on this season with deep gratitude.

May God continue to lead you, strengthen you, and remind you that He is faithful in every season.

The Hokianga is more than a location to me. It is a place of powerful landscapes, rich history, close-knit communities and stories worth preserving. My photography is shaped by a love for this region and a desire to capture its beauty with honesty, respect and attention to detail.

Reflections on Faith, Creation, and Photography

Photography has become one of the ways I slow down, notice God's creation, and reflect on His presence. While many of the images in this Hokianga gallery were captured close to home in New Zealand's Far North, Photo Walks with God was created over an unforgettable 18-month caravan journey across New Zealand, where my family and I travelled to share the hope of the gospel.

As we journeyed through coastlines, mountains, forests, and quiet country roads, we met people from all walks of life, shared God's love, and witnessed His faithfulness in countless ways. Along the way, I captured photographs that became the foundation of this devotional book, each one reflecting the beauty of God's creation and pointing to the Creator.

Photo Walks with God pairs these images with biblical reflections and devotional thoughts, inviting readers to pause, meditate on Scripture, and encounter God through the beauty of His creation. It is more than a photography book—it's an invitation to slow down, worship, and see the fingerprints of God in the world around us.
