Looking for a Hokianga photographer who understands the beauty, people and character of this unique place? I’m Chris Corradino, a photographer based in the Hokianga, Northland. From the sweeping landscapes of the Hokianga Harbour to community events, churches, families, local businesses and meaningful everyday moments, I love capturing images that tell a story.

Psalm 23 starts with David talking about the Shepherd:

“He leads me.”
“He restores me.”
“He guides me.”

But then David enters the valley.

And suddenly the language changes:

“You are with me.”

The valley moved David from talking about God to talking to God. 🙌🏽

And here’s the beautiful part:

The Shepherd has a name.

He isn't distant. He is with you.

His name is Jesus.

Some moments make you stop and look up.

“His faithfulness continues through all generations.” — Psalm 100:5

There’s a story in these weathered walls.

This old house caught my attention because of its character. The peeling paint, worn timber, and marks of time made me wonder about the people, memories, and moments that once filled these rooms.

It reminded me of how God sees us. He isn’t put off by the wear and tear of our lives. He sees beyond the surface, knows our story, and still calls us valuable.

“Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7

I took a wrong turn today and ended up on an unexpected dirt road tiki tour. 😂 Yet along the way, I saw some unique sights I would have completely missed if I’d stayed on the road I intended to take.

It got me thinking about life with God.

We can have a plan. We can know where we think we’re going. And then suddenly, the road changes.

But maybe the detour isn’t wasted.

Sometimes God uses the unexpected roads to slow us down, open our eyes, and show us something we would have otherwise missed.

So if you feel a little lost today, take heart.

You might just be on a God-designed detour. 🌿🙏

Sometimes we need to step away from the noise and simply be still.

There’s something about standing by a pier, watching the water move, feeling the breeze, and remembering that this world was created by God.

Creation has a way of slowing us down and reminding us: we are not in control, but we are held.

“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and everything in it.” — Psalm 96:11

Take some time today to get outside. Breathe deeply. Look around. Notice what God has made.

Faith is knowing where to go when the storm comes.

"Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth." — Psalm 31:5

For my brothers and sisters walking through seasons of uncertainty…

You may not be able to see the whole picture right now. The path may feel hidden, and the way forward unclear.

But remember: the fog does not mean God is absent.

Even when you can’t see clearly, His light is still shining. His presence is still with you. And in His perfect time, what is hidden will become clear.

‘The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.’ — John 1:5

Keep walking. Keep trusting. Keep your eyes on Jesus.

The fog may hide the road, but it can never hide the Light. 🌅

First morning back home, and God paints the sky like a reminder: He is still speaking.

After an incredible few days at the C3 Regional Conference in Tauranga—faith strengthened, relationships deepened, and souls restored—I’m coming home carrying so much in my spirit.

So many powerful thoughts. So much to process. So much to be grateful for.

And somehow, this sunrise feels like God saying, “There’s more ahead.” 🌅🙏

The Hokianga is more than a location to me. It is a place of powerful landscapes, rich history, close-knit communities and stories worth preserving. My photography is shaped by a love for this region and a desire to capture its beauty with honesty, respect and attention to detail.

Reflections on Faith, Creation, and Photography

Photography has become one of the ways I slow down, notice God's creation, and reflect on His presence. While many of the images in this Hokianga gallery were captured close to home in New Zealand's Far North, Photo Walks with God was created over an unforgettable 18-month caravan journey across New Zealand, where my family and I travelled to share the hope of the gospel.

As we journeyed through coastlines, mountains, forests, and quiet country roads, we met people from all walks of life, shared God's love, and witnessed His faithfulness in countless ways. Along the way, I captured photographs that became the foundation of this devotional book, each one reflecting the beauty of God's creation and pointing to the Creator.

Photo Walks with God pairs these images with biblical reflections and devotional thoughts, inviting readers to pause, meditate on Scripture, and encounter God through the beauty of His creation. It is more than a photography book—it's an invitation to slow down, worship, and see the fingerprints of God in the world around us.
